Hi Jackson Four,

I think my point was that your scientific explanations for how all these things came about aren't incompatible with me saying that God did it.

As for the issue of which religion is true, my experience of God and study of the Bible and the evidence surrounding it have convinced me that Christianity is true. I must, therefore, conclude that all other religions are false because their truth claims are incompatible with those that Jesus made.

I may, of course, be wrong in my belief. But, unless somebody can convince me that I am mistaken, I aim to think and live in a way that is consistent with it.

God Bless,

Stephen

ID isn't on the curriculum but the 'God did it' angle is.

There are schools that do teach it however.

It is, of course, total and utter rubbish but I respect your right to believe whatever you want to believe. Belief is nothing more than it is. I can explain to you how the universe, stars, black holes and planets formed. You can tell me God did it.

BTW, why are the 3000 other religions wrong and yours is right?

Hi Jackson Four,

I didn't think there were any UK schools that had Intelligent Design on the syllabus, at least not as part of their science curriculum.

As a Christian, even in 2009, I do believe that God ultimately did make the Earth and everything. But that doesn't necessarily conflict with naturalistic and scientific explanations. The Bible says almost nothing about the methods God used.

Speaking of dumbing down science, I still have to teach that God made the Earth and everything(Durrrr!)
to my year 11 pupils before quicky skipping onto evolution. I don't actually mention it as it's total rubbish but I should do.

In 2009, can you believe it?
